He has been on the faculty of the Electrical Engineering Dept at USC since Fall '99. Since last fall, he is the associate professor in Department of Computer and Information Science and Engineering (CISE) in University of Florida. Dr. Helmy received the National Science Foundation (NSF) CAREER Award in 2002. His work has been funded by several NSF awards, and grants from DARPA, NASA, Intel, Nortel, Pratt & Whitney, and HP. He has published over 70 peer-reviewed journal articles and conference papers, 5 book chapters, and 3 IETF RFCs.
