Dr. Ahmed Helmy's Short Bio:

Dr. Ahmed Helmy received his Ph.D. in Computer Science  University of Southern California (USC) in '99. He has been on the faculty of the Electrical Engineering Dept at USC since Fall '99. Since last fall, he is the associate professor in Department of Computer and Information Science and Engineering (CISE) in University of Florida.

Dr. Helmy received the National Science Foundation (NSF) CAREER  Award in 2002. His work has been funded by several NSF awards, and grants from DARPA, NASA, Intel, Nortel, Pratt & Whitney, and HP. 

He has published over 70 peer-reviewed journal articles and conference papers, 5 book chapters, and 3 IETF RFCs. Top 0.43% most cited authors in Computer Science

His current research interests lie in the areas of mobility modeling and analysis of mobile networks, protocol design for ad hoc and sensor networks, systematic design and stress testing of networking protocols and IP mobility.
