When: 5:10pm-6:10pm, Tuesday, Oct 3rd 2006 Where: NEB 589 Title: THz Imaging Abstract: THz imaging is emerging as a new imaging technology that draws attention of both researchers and industries. THz radiation, which occupies the spectrum between mid-infrared and microwave bands, can provide information, which may not be available through conventional methods (i.e. microwave and X-Ray techniques.) As THz wave technology improves, new THz sensing and imaging capabilities will impact a number of fields, including medical diagnosis, environment control, security monitoring, and chemical identification. This talk will discuss resources, properties and applications of THz radiation, as well as some current technologies corresponding to it.
