Speaker: Yanchao Zhang Topic: Securing Mobile Ad Hoc Networks with ID-Based Public-Key Cryptography (ID-PKC) Abstract: Recent years have witnessed a surge of research for mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs). Many target applications of MANETs are security-sensitive in nature, such as tactical military operations and homeland security scenarios. It is, therefore, of vital importance to develop efficient, effective security mechanisms for advancing the realistic development of MANETs. In this talk, I will first introduce ID-PKC, an emerging cryptographic technique, which is naturally well-suited for resource-constrained MANETs. Then I will present how to utilize ID-PKC to realize anonymous communications in MANETs. If time allowed, I will outline a distributed ID-based key management scheme.
